The Love of God paid for your sins, (Ephesians 1:7). you had not been born when Jesus died, now that you were born, how come His blood still speaks over your life, it’s because when Christ died, He didn’t for the present sins alone, He died to sin once and for all, including the past, present and future and we died with Him,the sin of human race born and yet unborn was laid on Him. He died once and for all but the sacrifice of the cross remains eternally efficacious.
Wanna ask you a sincere question, since you have been born, have you ever wronged your biological father so much that you thought he would disown you…especially if you were notorious while growing up? Even if you changed your surname, does that change your DNA? Nah! Once a man is born of God, the sacrifice of the cross is greater than your mistakes. Your sin is not bigger and important than what Jesus did on the cross.
The Love of God for you is eternal, you did nothing to earn His love and there is nothing you do that can undo His love. It is an everlasting love! If a man refuses to accept this love, he brings eternal damnation on himself. God has loved us, we have a responsibility to either accept or reject this love. (1John3:1: Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us that we should be called the children of God). This is no way an encouragement to sin, true understanding and acceptance of God’s love sets you free from sin and empowers you to live a life of dominion daily.
Some people think because they missed it at some point or disappointed God, God has not forgiven them or has stopped loving them, here is the good news, God knew ahead of time that you are weak and that you would need a saviour, He sent Jesus. Your feelings cannot undo His love. His love never changes, never fails. God has loved you before you became born again so what makes you think He will stop loving you now that you are. Romans 8:35-39- who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress or persecution, or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? …….For I am persuaded that neither death or life nor angels nor principalities nor power nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which in Christ Jesus. Here, Paul was writing to Christians.
Many times we think God has not forgiven us, or He has, we are the ones that fail to forgive ourselves. Several times you think God is angry with you, He isn’t, you are the the one angry with yourself. God is not a man!
Anytime we go out to evangelize, I always like to talk to smokers and the seemingly notorious sinners that religious people wouldn’t want to, you know why, I understand that the measure of God’s love to me and them is equal, I am not more loved than they are, God loved us all when He sent Jesus to die ( John 3:16- For God so LOVED THE WORLD (including them). I have accepted His love, this is why I am born again, they on the other hand might have never heard of this super love so I am always excited to share the Love of the Father with them.
There is something a typical yoruba parent would tell you if you are about to leave home or travel far away, they say ‘always remember whose son you are’. It means your new location should not give you a new identity, your DNA does not change even if your location changes.
When people offend me or I am about to take offense in anyone, I quickly remember my identity in Christ, I know offense is an alien to my nature, I quickly renew my mind to my original identity, I have a confession to that effect stuck on my wall, where I can quickly renew my mind to who I really am. I go back to it, say it till it enters and fills my consciousness again, I take scriptures like Philippians 1:9 and pray it to abound in love towards such people. Philippians 1:9- 11: This I pray that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgement……that you may be sincere and WITHOUT OFFENSE till the day of our Lord Jesus. Gbam! My love gauge is up again and I begin to express love to seemingly unlovable personalities. It has worked for me, it will work for anyone. It’s the standard of The Word. THE LOVE OF GOD IN YOU BECOMES ACTIVE THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD’S WORD. Here is the confession:
1 Corinthians 13:4-7(Amp)
If the only love you have for your spouse is Eros, it will one day fail but AGAPE NEVER FAILS (1 Corinthians 13:8). Don’t build your home or relationship on Eros only, make sure you are overwhelmed in Agape, unconditional love of God. This is why an unbeliever cannot love like Christ, because he does not have this love nature in him, the nature is received at the new birth. I will stress this more in the next post.
To receive this nature, you would have to accept Christ first and you can do that right away by believing in your heart that Christ is the son of God and that He was raised from the dead and confess Him now as your Lord and Saviour. Welcome to A NEW LIFE!
