The time of process is always a time of insignificance. That nothing is happening in the physical doesn’t mean we should sit down and act lazy. It is a season where you need to channel your strength in the direction you are going.
It is both a passive and active season. It is passive because nothing seems to be happening in the physical, it is active because a lot goes on in the spiritual. It is a time of character- formation and positive alignment with God’s will.
I tried to study the life of Joseph in retrospect. He was sold by his brothers, lied against by Potiphar’s wife, he had every reason to be bitter but he wasn’t. Then a time came, he helped Pharaoh’s chief butler. He interpreted the man’s dream, and told him he would be freed from prison, but he should extend his kindness by mentioning him to Pharaoh. I can imagine his countenance days after, he would have told other inmates: that few days from now, I will be out of here. A week after, two weeks, months, probably years after, nothing happened. That was enough to take offense or to be bitter about, but God was still working on him.
If the butler had mentioned him to Pharaoh, he would have been out of prison early, and the best position they would have restored him to, was the post he was before he was sent to prison; chief slave. But God had something bigger and better in mind. When you try to go ahead of God, there is little to where your natural effort can get you, compared to where He has prepared for you. Process is always a silent season but what comes out of it is always worth the wait. Nothing spectacular happened to Joseph really but the when his time came, it was grand exit from being a slave to being a prime minister.
Psalm 105:17-20: He sent a man before them, even Joseph who was sold for a servant, whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron. UNTIL THE TIME THAT HIS WORD CAME: the word of the Lord tried him. The king sent and loosed him, even the ruler of the people and let him go free.
Before His Word came, the word tried him, this sounds like faithfulness in the generic brings you into the specific. The word ‘tried’ used in the above scripture in Hebrews means refined, test. God is using the circumstances around you to refine you, He wants you to build the character that will sustain you at your next level.
Maximize this season of preparation. Joseph had been interpreting dreams in the prison before he interpreted in palace. Exercise your skills, get more knowledge, be trained and well equipped for your destination.
Joseph had interpreted dreams for free in the prison and was suddenly called to do the same in the place but this time,he was paid with the position of a prime minister. Show consistent devotion and commitment to where you are going.
When your Word comes, it will be like every other day, you would be doing the same thing you have been doing, but this time, it will be done with a refined character and the reward will be overwhelming. Enjoy this season and stay in process. Sure this blessed you.
