Many are quick to believe God can forgive but slow to believe He forgets the penalty or consequences.
We think God is like our earthly fathers, when we offend than and apologise,they forgive us but would still punish us,so we have assumed punishment to be the expression of Forgiveness. Lemme shock you, GOD IS NOT A MAN!
When Christ died,He paid for your sins AND for the penalty or punishment or consequences or whatever you call it.Redemption is a complete package. Christ bore your sins and bore the consequences also.
The reason you don’t feel forgiven is because you don’t understand redemption neither do you understand the power in the blood of Jesus. In the old testament, blood of bulls and calves was used to atone sin, the blood was only capable of purifying the flesh(Heb 9:13) but when Jesus offered His blood as an offering for sin,it cleanses our body, penetrates our hearts and purge our consciences,(Heb9:14) this was what the blood of bulls and calves could not do. The blood of calves still brought a remembrance of sin,but the blood of Jesus blots it out completely.
That is why, In Christ,Old things have passed away because once you come under the blood,it wipes your slate clean, as if you never did anything wrong.
Devil is the one playing upon your ignorance when he brings the consciousness of the past.
You have been forgiven, faith in the blood is the key to enjoying absolute forgiveness.It restores your confidence and boldness to approach God presence.
Heb 10:22- Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
