What is expected from a wife has been emphasised so much and what is required from the man ought to be known because God honours and bless Agreement in a marriage.
1 Peter 3:1-6 emphasised submission for a woman,
Verse 7 says- Husbands,LIKEWISE dwell with them with understanding, GIVING HONOUR TO THE WIFE as to the weaker vessel.
‘Likewise’ in this scripture means ‘The same goes for you’ Husbands, as much as you would love your wife to submit, God requires you to HONOUR her also.
The Word Honour in this scripture in Greek is ‘Teemay’ means esteem of the highest degree, a value that is money paid, it has the same meaning as PRICE in 1 Cor 7:23- for ye are bought with a PRICE……
The price is the precious blood of Jesus, If a man does not understand how Christ loved the church,he would never understand how to love a woman.
How did Christ Loved the church?
By GIVING HIMSELF FOR HER. We were weak but Christ came to bring us up to His own standard by dieing for us, The church was so precious to Him that the only ransomed value placed on us was HIS OWN BLOOD and He was willing to give it.
Dear man,you are waiting for a perfect woman right? May God provide one! But most importantly, you need to give yourself for her to bring out the best in her. We are not saying you should die for her, Christ already did that, you need to die to your ego, die to your selfish advantage, bring out the best in your woman. We didn’t worth it,Christ still gave Himself.
Stop whinning about her weaknesses and incapabilities, you can do something about it. Bring out the best in her.
The same honour Christ gave to Church is the same honour God expects you to give to your wife, hold her in the highest esteem, GIVE to her, Tee may also means a value that is money paid, GIVE TO YOUR WIFE biko. Some men only proclaim Love with words, Christ showed us with His deeds. Bible says let us not love in words but in deeds. The words are good but the deeds are most important.
You may not be able to give your blood,we don’t need it, the Blood of Jesus is enough, Give your money, your substance. One of the proofs of Love is giving. Even if she is rich, it is still your responsibility to give to her.
Ephesians 5:25- Husbands, love your wives, JUST AS Christ Loved the Church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word that HE MIGHT PRESENT HER TO HIMSELF a GLORIOUS church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Dear man,Christ saw a weak and sinful church but desired a holy and sanctified one, He came down to her standard to bring her up to His own Standard.
Whatever you want to see in your woman, it is your responsibility to bring it out in her. GIVING HONOUR… not what you do once,it is what you do always.
