Hello Woman,in the last 6 series,we have observed the obedience and submission of Sarah as an epitome for a new testamental woman.
I sensed the need to strike a balance,in the course of obeying and submitting,you must not do things outside the will of God to please your man.Else you both might end up in the ditch.
Col 3:18- Wives,submit to your own husbands,AS IT IS FIT IN THE LORD.
Some things are not fit in the Lord,that your husband might demand from you,in the name of ‘obey your husband in everything’
You must understand that your husband is your Lord in the natural realm but in the Spiritual realm,Christ is Lord over you both.So you must not in the name of submission do things outside the will of God.God is no respecter of persons.
Woman,there are times your husband might head in the wrong direction, having heard God but obstinate in following, God might use you to point him in the right direction, in situations like this,stand your ground but do it with humility.
In Gen 21,Sarah’s was right and God sided with her and told Abraham to listen to his wife
Gen21:10- Therefore she(Sarah) said to Abraham, cast out this bond woman and her son…
Gen 21:12- But God said to Abraham….whatever Sarah has said to you,LISTEN TO HER VOICE: for in Isaac shall your seed be called
You see,God had told Abraham this earlier, it took Sarah to bring it to his remembrance, God can use your woman to salvage the situation, she can hear God as much as you can,however,women must not use this as an opportunity to usurp or despise the authority of their husbands,do it with humility and submission. Men also must not feel intimidated on such occasions,Abigeal had to Save her husband from foolishness that almost cost his life.
Galatians 3:28- There is neither Jew nor Greek,there is neither slave nor free,there is neither male nor female, for YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS.
Well it occurred to me that our anchor Scripture : Isaiah 51:2 says Look to Abraham your father AND to Sarah who bore you…..we have looking unto Sarah, to be balanced, we need to look unto Abraham also,so HIM ALONE continues but we shall be looking Unto Abraham in the next series….
