Of all the blood of Jesus did, other benefits it brought us include;
5.Forgiveness
In the old testament, when they sinned, they would bring bulls, calves, heifers and so on according to the measure of their sin, they would bring it to the priest who would kill, sprinkle the blood on them as a symbol of forgiveness, also Christ came as a priest, became sin offering and through his blood, we also obtained forgiveness but His own blood is far greater than the blood of animals. It paid for your past, present and future sins.Heb 9:22-….and without the shedding of blood, there is no remission.
Ephesians 1:7- In whom we have redemption through HIS BLOOD, the FORGIVENESS OF SINS according to the riches of his grace.
Forgiveness in this scripture is translated ‘aphesis’ in Greek meaning pardon of sins, LETTING THEM GO AS IF THEY HAD NEVER BEEN COMMITTED. The blood paid for your sins and also took the consequences. That you don’t feel forgiven does not mean you have not been forgiven, your feelings cannot undo the finished works of Christ.
Also, when people go through stuffs, sickness or a hard time, they are quick to judge that God is responsible, well, let me shock you, God is not an author of evil and punishment is not the expression of God’s forgiveness. When a man sins, he opens himself up to the devil, the devil uses that opportunity to strike but the moment a man repents, the sin is blotted out by the blood, so devil no longer has a free course, it is now your responsibility to stand against what devil has inflicted you with because Christ already paid for your sins and consequences, you ought not to bear it any longer. Devil cheats on you because of your ignorance, resist him, don’t permit whatever he brings. Christ paid for your sins and it’s penalty.
6. FELLOWSHIP
Of all the blood did for us, ‘fellowship’ is the crux of it. God initially created man for fellowship, Gen 3:8 talked about how God came in the cool of the day to fellowship with Adam but sin had cut him off from God’s presence. God has always desired fellowship, so He sent Jesus to restore us back to Himself, to HIs presence, so now we can have and enjoy fellowship with the Father.
2 Cor 5:19- that is God was in Christ, reconciling the world to HIMSELF, not imputing their trespasses to them and has committed to us the ministry of reconciliation.
We are no longer in the outer court, we have been restored to the Holy of Holies, where the Father dwells. How do we fellowship?
1. Through Prayer, although we cannot see God face to face, but by faith, we connect to Him in prayers, Holy Spirit makes His Presence real to us and in us, we can almost handle him. David said In His Presence, there is fullness of Joy….it means our joy is a product of the revelation of the finished works of Christ, we remember the righteousness nature he imputed unto us, the sit He gave us at His right hand, the peace of reconciliation we have and enjoy, we remember He no longer calls to account our sins and our past, and that we have been forgiven, we dance to this rhythms of revelation we shout and jump with this understanding. We enter the place of prayer with boldness standing on the precious blood of Jesus that if He has freely given us Jesus, how will he not with Him give us every other thing.
Need doesn’t drive us to pray as much as the desire to pour out our love on Him does. Prayer is a means of fellowship. High priest entered His Presence once in a year(Heb 9:7) but we have been restored into His presence forever, we have been made royal PRIESTHOOD, we offer continually sacrifices of praise, making melody to the Lord in the spirit, with prayers unhindered.
2. Through His Word
You must understand that The Word of God is not a letter, it is a person. Jesus is Word personified. When you take your bible, you must study with this understanding, His person and presence is unveiled more in the Word. As the behold the Word, You will see Him and also see yourself.You will understand more about your righteousness, how to use your authority in Christ , how to enjoy the peace in His presence and so on.
If you have not been praying or studying, you have not maximized His Presence. Sin breaks your fellowship with God, not your relationship with Him, if sin has kept you back from fellowship, it is time to repent and stand where you belong. Our motivation for not sinning is to protect our fellowship with Him. If you have been struggling, receive Grace in Jesus name! Come boldly to the throne of Grace, obtain mercy and find Grace to help in time of need.
Fellowship is the core of His Presence.
