The gospel is the too good to be true news, not a scary news. God gets all the credits for it so stop trusting in your own goodness, rather throw yourself on the mercy of God.

Most people are driven to God out of fear but that is simply religion. True gospel reveals the goodness of God and leads men to repentance. •
God does not love you based on how well you pray or study although prayer and study have so many benefits. He has loved you with His everlasting love. Infact, He has a bad case of ‘I love you ‘. God loves you in spite of your sins and failures.
There is nothing you can do to improve on this love and there is nothing you can do to make God love you less. You haven’t fallen too far for Him to catch you and no matter how far you have derailed, the grace of God is able to catch up with you, overwhelm you with love and set you on the right path.
I know you have done terrible things but quit letting your sin bigger than God. “You don’t know what I’ve done’ someone says. Well, I don’t need to know, I just need you to know what Jesus has done. He paid it all, He only needs you to respond to His love by believing in your heart and confessing Him with your mouth. Faith is your response to His love.
