The Wilderness Experience 3

Your understanding and attitude in every wilderness experience, determines how soon you would come out of it. Victory is certain because we already have it in Christ.Having the right attitude is as important as the victory you are looking forward to. These are the few but indispensable ones you must have.

1. Joy

It is scriptural to rejoice in the midst of trials. I am not talking about happiness, happiness is an expression of the good thing happening on the outside, Joy is an expression of what is within, it has nothing to do with outward circumstances. You must reach out from the well within, knowing your victory is certain because Christ already obtained it for us. You must rejoice knowing it’s a momentary affliction and cannot be compared with the glory that is to be revealed. James 1:2- My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials. (1Peter 1:6-8)2

2.  Be Victory Conscious

Many fail in trials because they do not lay hold on the assurance of Victory Christ has promised. The truth is even if it seems you are being defeated on the outside, you are still victorious within. Victory must rule your consciousness not defeat. Jesus could endure the cross and despise the shame because He was mindful of the joy set before Him. The joy of many other sons being born into the family of God, the joy that He no longer would no longer sit at the right hand of the Father but many would also sit with Him, the joy of the salvation of the world. Victory is from inside out, before you would see it on the outside, it must have ruled your consciousness within.

3. Endurance

This word is used interchangeably as patience in the bible,  patience is not just sitting down waiting for victory, it means cheerfulness and hopefulness.  You must be steadfast, your confession of victory must not change even in the face of what seems like defeat.  After you have done all you can, knowing you are in the will of God, made your confession, prayed the Word, you must not get tired, you must keep at it. Continue in these things. Prayer must not become boring, your confession must not be seen as hard Labour, rejoicing must not be over. Abraham had to wait for 25 years before he obtained the promise,(Heb 6:15- and so, after he had PATIENTLY ENDURED, HE OBTAINED THE PROMISE)  but he wasn’t sitting down looking into the sky expecting Isaac to drop down from heaven, Romans 4:17- 21 described his patience walk, ‘he wasn’t weak in Faith, he wasn’t checking out his dead body,(this also means he never stopped having sex with his wife, even when there was no result for several years,my opinion though) he was giving glory to God, fully convinced’.  Joyce Meyer once said Patience is not waiting but what you do while waiting(Other Ref: Romans 15:4, 2 Thess 1:4)

4. Followership

Many have gone through the same wilderness you are passing through, how did they overcome, how did they hold up when they were almost throwing in the towel. How did they do it? My dear, it is your responsibility to find out. Hebrews 6: 12….. but follow those who through Faith and patience obtained the promises. You have them in the scriptures, study them, you have them in books, buy them, you have them in messages, listen to them. You have them around, follow them means study, listen, observe what they did and do the same.

I therefore speak Peace into your life in Jesus name. Your mourning is turned into dancing, your night times are over, your morning has come. You are strengthened with all might according to His glorious power for all patience and longsuffering with joy. Victory is yours now and always.
