Luke 4:1-Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and WAS LED BY THE SPIRIT INTO THE WILDERNESS.
A lot of times,we tell the Holy Ghost what we want, where to take us,not where we ought to be. We lead the Spirit instead of being led by the Spirit.
But the Holy Spirit won’t lead you beside still waters alone,He leads you into the wilderness sometimes, not for you to be crushed but for you to mature and be perfected in character. God allows us to have some experiences so that he can prove us and commit greater things into our hands and prepare us for better things.Jesus returned in the Power of the Spirit after this wilderness experience and launched into his ministry, what He came to fufill. His fame spread abroad(Luke 4:14-15).
There was a shorter route the Isrealites could have taken to Canaan but Scripture says God led them through the way of the Wilderness of the Red Sea.(Exodus 13:17-18).
The Wilderness Experiences is not sickness or diseases or anything anti-redemption.It can be trials, tribulations, afflictions that the Gospel might expose you to,going to places you never would thought of if the Spirit didn’t lead you there. It could be sacrifice of time, beatings, insults, sleepless watch, hunger….all for the sake of the Gospel and the leading of the Spirit.
Apostle Paul had several wilderness experiences, all for the sake of the gospel, he wasn’t crushed in the process, His faith and boldness to preach Christ just increased the more. God comforted him in all.
God never said we won’t pass through fire and water,He said WHEN we pass through it,He will be with us(Isaiah 43:2).There is hope and comfort in every wilderness experience, there is always a joy set before you,so endure it,stay grounded till you are perfected, stay joyful because it is only a momentary affliction. Stay rejoicing because God is with you right there.Stay connected with the Spirit because If the Spirit led you into it,He can lead you out of it.God knows the escape route out of every trial.
Stay open to what He is doing through you and in you.It only makes you stronger and better.
1peter 5:10- and the God of all Grace ……after that ye have suffered a while, make you Perfect ,establish, strengthen and settle you.
Be Grateful for all wilderness Experiences.
